Heat fresh water to the desired temperature using a separate kettle (see steeping guide for water temperature guidelines).
Place the appropriate amount of loose leaf tea (1–3 teaspoons, depending on the type of tea) into the half-dome stainless steel infuser basket. Reassemble the steel infuser lid into the grooves of the half-dome infuser basket and twist clockwise to lock.
Place the assembled infuser basket into the teapot ring grooves, with the half-domed infuser oriented downward and the flat mesh visible from above.
Pour the heated water over the infuser basket, until the water has reached the mesh top of the infuser.
Place the domed timer lid snugly onto the porcelain teapot base, then wind the timer clockwise to the appropriate tea type or desired time. (There is an approximate 3 minute minimum time setting required for the timer to begin the wind-down.)
Take a break... the integrated timer & counterweight will remove the leaves from your tea by flipping the infuser basket at the appropriate time, completing the steeping cycle.
Pour yourself a cup of tea – steeped to perfection, every time.
WARNINGS:
The Automatic Teapot is not electric and should NOT be placed on a hot stovetop or in the microwave. You must heat the water that you pour into the teapot separately.
Never force the timer to wind–down. Misuse can cause mechanical failure.
When cleaning, please note that the domed teapot timer lid is NOT dishwasher safe, and should be wiped dry after use. All other components are dishwasher safe. The inner teapot ring can snap in and out of the teapot, for easy cleaning.
